My first job out of graduate school was working for IFMR as a Research Associate. In the Centre for Development Finance, I worked mostly on issues related to Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), which are large social welfare programmes funded by the Central government and implemented by State and/or District governments. We used national and state surveys, combined with other primary data sources for our analysis.
Two highlights : * I worked on a paper, which was published here: “Going to the Operating Room Without a Diagnostic: Reforming Centrally Sponsored Schemes” India Review (2010)
- I helped organize a 2009 conference in Delhi called “From Outlays to Outcomes: Getting Development from Development Expenditure”.
On any given day my tasks where:
Collecting Adminstrative data from policy partners and government agencies.
Contribute to analysis and writing of policy briefs
Conduct data cleaning, analysis using primary and secondary sources for various development and policy research projects
Review and report on literature for any requested topic
